CareersBuild the next decade of African AI with us.
We're hiring across research, engineering, and operations. All roles are open to applicants based in Africa, openly banded, and designed to keep you working on the problems — not on the bureaucracy.
African-led, Africa-based
We hire across the continent. Roles are remote-first within Africa unless tied to a hub. Relocation support is available for hub roles.
Practitioners welcome
We hire engineers, clinicians, agronomists, and linguists — not just ML researchers. The strongest applied work comes from teams that include people who use the tools.
Transparent pay
Salary bands are published on every role. We benchmark to local cost of living, audit yearly, and back-pay when we get it wrong.
Health & research budget
Full health insurance, a yearly $1,200 research allowance, and a conference budget that doesn't require begging.

How we hire.
Five steps. Roughly four weeks end-to-end. We respond to every applicant, even when we say no.
Send a short application via the contact form, or directly to careers@gctexchange.org. No cover letter required; a one-paragraph note is fine.
A 45-minute conversation with the hiring manager. We talk about your work, our work, and whether there's fit.
A scoped, paid take-home or a discussion of your existing work. We design it to take 4–6 hours, not 40.
Half a day with three or four future colleagues — remote or in-hub. Two technical conversations, one values conversation.
We make written offers with the salary band, equity statement (we have none), and a 30-day decision window.
